Our Mission:
As a welcoming, compassionate congregation that celebrates diversity, we glorify God through inspirational worship, intentional spiritual growth, and the continual pursuit of justice and peace.
Our Faith:

Together with other members of the Presbyterian Church (USA), we relish the abundant grace offered to us by God in Jesus Christ, God’s Son and our Lord. We rely on the Holy Spirit, God’s presence in the world today, to guide, challenge and comfort us on our journey of faith. We trust that God has created this world and all that is in it. God has put us together as a family of faith to support one another and to minister in Christ’s name to our neighborhood and to God’s world.
Our 2014-2015 Focus:
Love your neighbor: in the church, the community and the world! Our activities, prayers, projects and worship will center around ways we can love our neighbor in word and deed all year long!
What’s a Presbyterian?:
Presbyterians come in all theological stripes, speak multiple languages and have different interpretations of some parts of Scripture and doctrine. But at the core, all Presbyterians
- Believe that God alone is Lord.
- Understand God’s relationship with humanity in terms of a covenant (promise)
- Gratefully receive God’s grace in Jesus Christ
- Accept the authority of Scripture as it shapes, forms and informs our faith
- Live out their faith in the world.
Our name comes from presbuteros, the Greek word meaning elder, because we are led by a group of male and female elders elected by the congregation. We are connected to Presbyterian churches across the state of Maryland and around the country as we work together to deepen our faith, serve our community and share the gospel in our world. Our witness, corporately and individually, is rooted in the gospel ministries of preaching, teaching, and healing, and in Christ’s example of advocacy for the poor, the hungry, and the oppressed. Presbyterians are expected to support the work of Christ near and far through hands-on support, financial giving and prayer.
