The music program at Hunting Ridge is built around a simple philosophy. Find people who have a passion for music, and provide them an opportunity to explore that passion.
The Choir at Hunting Ridge provides music for Sunday worship. From September through May, rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM in the choir room at Hunting Ridge. The HRPC Choir sings a wide variety of music for services including classical, gospel, contemporary Christian rock, and folk music. We believe that the quality of the heart, not the style of the music, is what brings God praise.
“Imani” comes from Kiswahili, meaning ‘Faith.’ The Imani Ringers are a faithful group that light up the sanctuary once a month with the tintinnabulation (ringing) of bells. The Imani Ringers rehearse Thursday evenings from 7-8 PM in the balcony of the sanctuary.
Other Musical Activities
Seasonal Strings: A pick-up string orchestra of church members and members of the community that play a few times a year.
Masterwork Choir and community choir events: Music and learning aids are made available online, and we invite members of the community to join us! Last year, we performed Christopher Tin’s “Baba Yetu.” We also put together some Halloween music for our annual pumpkin patch, singing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and a medley from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
